From the BridgeFebruary 2010
Old Man Winter is certainly pushing us around this February!
First, as you know, we needed to cancel the February Members Meeting due to inclement weather. After discussion among the board and the realization that this week is also the Greenwich Schools Winter break it was decided to simply cancel the meeting until the March Members Meeting on March 10th. Fortunately we did not have any pressing issues.
We are wrapping things up with the Front Foyer Makeover. Stop by and take a look at the new framed-out doors to the closet area. The ceiling fixture has been relocated and the ceiling skim coated and painted. All the walls and trim have also been painted. I hope you will agree that is work has made the Foyer a brighter, more welcoming space. I would like to thank Steve Rosa, Bill Bennet, Peter Catanzaro and Kevin OConnor for helping me with this project.
I would like the membership to join me in thanking Dr. Doug Masi for his daily attention and enthusiastic service to the club as House Chairman. Doug resigned from this position this month and I truly appreciate his dedication and time. Thank you, Doug!
The next GBYC day ski trip will be on February 27th. The first ski trip was so successful that there have been mini day trips each week since January 16th. Anyone interested in joining the group for this trip please contact Mary Gibbons at 203 943 4753 or at mary@curleycontracting.com.
I have appointed Bill Sherwood as House Chairman and he is looking forward to helping and facilitating any rental questions and requests. Please contact Bill with any rental inquires at 203-637-1211. Thanks, again Bill for accepting this position.
The Pasta Dinner Night was a delightful, special and intimate evening. It was a great turnout with a diverse mix of young and old; recent and seasoned members all enjoying each others company in a relaxed atmosphere complete with a beautiful fire and Andrea Bocelli music in the background. And have you heard about the food? Delicious, homemade sauce created by Susan Griffin! We also served meatballs, sweet and hot sausage, pasta, salad and lots more. I'd like to thank Susan and Ray Griffin, Steve Rosa, Bob and Dale O'Brien, Chris Lagano, and Kim Bruce who all worked so hard to make this event was a huge success. If you missed this you missed a special evening.
